Production Process
We provide complete web site services - including all of the details that the other company forgot to mention. Completion time for a site depends on its size and complexity, and on how quickly we receive the content from our customer. A standard 5-page site usually takes about 2-3 weeks.
1. Establish Goals
The first step is figuring out what the web site needs to accomplish. Do you need to teach customers about your service? Will you show pictures? How will prospects submit inquiries? What if they are ready to buy right now?
Your domain name is an integral part of your web presence. Whether your domain name will reflect your product or your company name is an important decision that must be carefully evaluated. We'll help with that, and assist in finding the domain name (or names) that meet your web objective.
2. Decide on Special Functions
Once we know what the site must accomplish, we consider which web functions will add value for visitors and save you time and effort back at the office or store.
We make each design choice - information placement, position of graphics, color, font - for best appearance and usability. We design for ease of visitor use, not for ease of programmer coding.
3. Design the Look and Structure
Weather is important in construction and the concrete industry. SFW's weather feature provides valuable information to the client's customers.
Once we know what the site's goals are, and how best to reach those goals, we can establish a custom look for your web site. Based on your existing logo and corporate color scheme, or on other starting suggestions you give us, we'll create a polished page layout to present information clearly and logically.
Design isn't only about visuals. We pay close attention to the structure of your online information. Without order and structure, information loses most of its value. The more orderly and logically arranged, the more valuable your information becomes.
4. Add the Content
You'll need to provide us with the information and photos to place in your site. Once we have all of the information in hand, we can organize and present it to your customers.
5. Preview the Web Site
After the pages are built and content is placed, you'll have an opportunity to review the site - to make sure you've got everything there that you wanted to include, and to thoroughly proofread the site. (We make every effort to avoid typos and other errors, but sometimes they get by us.) Once you approve of the site, we'll make it live at your domain name.
6. Go Live!
One great feature of web sites is that you never have to be completely "finished." New information will make your web site more valuable to customers and prospects. Remember to sign into Updates Anytime SM and keep your web site up to date!
